Community

Community

The morning after, my body is dragging
Coffee shop haze, the sun not yet come
But in my belly, still the warmth remains
From last night's gathering of kindred souls and pains

We brought our disparate crowds together, a motley crew
From the dive bars to the book clubs, we broke through
The usual silos of self-importance fell away
As we shared our words, our laughter, in a joyous, messy way

I saw the poet with her charismatic dress
And the musician with his guitar's gentle caress
The artist with her paint-splattered grin
We all came together, like scattered pieces of a puzzle within

Our conversations flowed like a meandering stream
As we talked of life, love, and all its schemes
No pretenses, no egos to inflate
Just genuine smiles, and a sense of community that's hard to create

In this chaotic world, where everyone's in a rush
We found solace in each other's presence, like a gentle hush
A reminder that connection is what makes us whole
Not just the noise, but the quiet moments we share, the love we unfold

My coffee's getting cold, but my heart\s still aglow
From last night's celebration of life, and all its beauty to show
I'll savor this feeling, like a rich, dark brew
And carry it with me, as I face whatever comes anew.
