Concrete Dreams

In the doldrums of routine I dwell,
Concrete dreams within my shell.
A parched desert, life's hue unseen,
Stifling flights of words in between.

Wander I must on paths of stone,
My thoughts echoing cold and alone.
Walk, coffee, shop, repeat the rhyme,
A rhythm that stifles the creative chime.

Greyscale existence, shades of gray,
Yet hints of color find their way.
Family, friends, like flowers' bloom,
Breaking through the cracks of gloom.

Family and friends' cheer whispers near,
Through the mundane, the love shines clear.
Concrete dreams, a canvas to unfold,
In life's routine, my tale is told.
