Devilish Eyes

With a mischievous smile that hides a wild heart,
He enters the workday with a guise to play his part,
His true self dimmed a bit, for now, he must stay,
In a world that values order, and structure every day.

He works for freedom, for dancing wild and free,
But here in the work day, he must play by the company's decree,
So he hides away his mischievousness, and hides it with a smile,
And carries on with his work, mile by tedious mile.

The clock ticks on, and the day slowly drags,
As he stifles his laughter, and holds back his flags,
But in his heart, the spark still burns bright,
And he knows that after, he'll be free to take flight.

So for now, he'll play the game, and keep his wildness at bay,
But as the clock ticks towards the end of the day,
His true self will come free, and be who he truly is,
With those devilish eyes of his.
