I'm Tired

I'm Tired

The blank screen of my phone,
The face I see, judging me.
Demanding another page of sweat
From my already wrung-out soul.

Damn rain keeps hammering on the window,
A thousand icy fingers stealing the heat.
My back hurts like I slept on concrete,
Feet feel full of lead weights.

The sun is a ghost today,
Behind clouds thick as my pain-ridden thoughts.
This day feels like it weighs 500 pounds,
And it isn't even off the mat yet.

Another espresso might loosen things up.
But right now…
Right now I feel like a broken-down car,
Waiting for the tow truck of oblivion to show up.
