I went walking in Görlitzer Park yesterday.

I was quite surprised by the overt drug use and sale there. It was a place where being on the fringe makes you a target. I felt predatory eyes on me.

Even more surprising to me, was how naturally that aspect of the park coexisted with young families. Both elements living side by side, ignoring the other.

There were posters up, looking for missing adults. Young people lost to the city.

I've written ‘Walking with the Missing’ about my experience in that park.
