“Sunlight streamed through the coffee shop window, bathing the worn wooden tables and chairs in warm, golden light. The scent of fresh-brewed coffee filled the air, mingling with the earthy aroma of baked goods still hot from the oven. There was a chill in the air, and the little private patio was empty, as it usually was in early spring. Piercing blue eyes glanced around the cozy, inviting interior, noticing how every other customer seemed to have someone to talk to. Alex sighed, wishing for just a moment of excitement in this dull, predictable life.”

“... they were suddenly side by side, Alex, still seated, looking up at strong shoulders tapering down to a trim waist, moving rhythmically, and well toned arms flexing and pulsing as this stranger blotted up the spilled coffee…”

“... Alex urged the powerful car forward, spitting gravel behind. Eyes narrowed in concentration as the car shot out of the parking lot…”
