The House

Wobbling, stumbling, in the train's wild dance,
The steps mirrored my life's unsteady trance.
Furtive stares and whispered questions flew,
Those who truly saw me were but a few.

On society's fringes, I'd come to reside,
The weight of my bag echoed my weary stride.
The world, so gray, unforgiving, and cold,
Yet a different realm awaited, or so I was told.

I sought refuge in The House's embrace.
Indifference to difference was their first grace.
Inside those walls, the storm seemed to cease,
Kindness and warmth, a delightful release.

In their indifference, I pray I find home,
A place where acceptance has room to roam.
A world where differences simply belong,
And in that coexistence, we all find life's song.
